1. What data we process and where it comes from
This website is static and has no forms and no user registration. We do not collect personal data through the Site.
We process personal data in two situations only:
- When you write to us. Whatever you include in your email or call: name, company, email address, phone number and the content of your enquiry.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider automatically records data such as IP address, date and time of the request and browser type, in order to keep the Site secure and working.
2. Why we process it
To answer your enquiry, to prepare and send you the information or proposal you ask for, and to maintain the business conversation that follows. If a contract is signed, to manage it and meet the associated legal obligations.
We do not profile you, we make no automated decisions, and we do not use your data to send you marketing unrelated to the matter you raised.
3. Legal basis
- GDPR article 6(1)(b) — pre-contractual steps taken at your request, and performance of the contract if one is signed.
- GDPR article 6(1)(f) — our legitimate interest in answering professional enquiries addressed to us and in keeping the Site secure.
- GDPR article 6(1)(c) — compliance with legal obligations, mainly tax and commercial, where a business relationship exists.
4. How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to a business relationship are kept while the conversation is live and, afterwards, for up to one year in case you get back in touch.
Where there is a contract, data is kept for its duration and then blocked for the statutory limitation periods: six years for commercial records (Spanish Commercial Code) and four years for tax matters (General Tax Act).
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell or transfer personal data. The following act as processors and access it only as needed to provide their service to us:
- Cloudflare, Inc. — website hosting and domain email routing.
- Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC — the email service where we receive and store messages.
Data may also be disclosed to public authorities and courts where legally required, and to our tax and accounting advisers where invoicing exists.
6. International transfers
The providers above are companies with US parent entities. Any transfers rely on the mechanisms set out in Chapter V of the GDPR: the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission and, where applicable, the adequacy decision for the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
7. Your rights
You may exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction of processing and portability at any time, and withdraw any consent given, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand.
To do so, write to info@selectglobalimport.com or to the postal address above, identifying yourself and stating the right you wish to exercise. We will reply within one month.
If you believe the processing does not comply with the rules, you may lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (C/ Jorge Juan, 6, 28001 Madrid — www.aepd.es).
8. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect data against loss, unauthorised access or misuse: HTTPS encryption on the Site, restricted access to the mailbox and two-step verification on the accounts involved.
9. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated to reflect regulatory changes or changes in how the Site works. The version in force is always the one published on this page, with the update date shown at the top.
